Fixed Term Contract for one year initially

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Class Teacher (full time) who shares our ambition for high-quality teaching, strong foundations in early learning, and excellent outcomes for all pupils.

The Trust wishes to appoint an excellent and committed teacher to join Hampsthwaite C of E Primary School from September 2026. We warmly welcome applications from candidates looking for a full time role, ECT are also welcome to apply.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver consistently high-quality teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Plan and deliver a broad, engaging and well-sequenced KS1 curriculum, ensuring progression and clear learning outcomes across subjects
  • Demonstrate flexibility and confidence in planning for mixed-age classes, ensuring learning is appropriately pitched for all pupils
  • Have a strong focus on securing excellent outcomes for all learners, including pupils with SEND, those in receipt of Pupil Premium, and higher attaining pupils
  • Place a strong emphasis on early reading, recognising its importance as the gateway to the wider curriculum
  • Teach systematic synthetic phonics effectively, using our chosen programme, Monster Phonics
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Phonics Screening Check, using assessment effectively to ensure all pupils are well prepared
  • Teach the fundamentals of mathematics, ensuring pupils develop secure number sense, fluency and early reasoning skills
  • Create a calm, purposeful and engaging classroom environment that reflects our commitment to consistency, inclusion and high expectations
  • Foster a love of learning so that children are motivated to enjoy, achieve and flourish
  • works effectively in partnership with teaching assistants and colleagues;
  • is a reflective practitioner with high expectations for achievement, behaviour and inclusion;
  • contributes positively to the wider life of the school and Trust.
