About this Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Toddler Room Lead to join our vibrant Early Years team at our new nursery, opened in September 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about giving children the very best start in life and who thrives in a warm, nurturing and playful environment.

As our Toddler Room Lead, you will create a joyful, stimulating and developmentally rich learning space for children, supporting them through acrucial stage of their early development. You will lead by example, inspiring colleagues to embed high‑quality practice and ensuring that every toddler in your care feels safe, supported, and ready to explore the world around them.

The successful candidate will have:

Essential

  •  Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent recognised by Ofsted)
  • Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or equivalent Early Years degree-level qualification (desirable/essential depending on your setting requirement.
  • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
  • Sound knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) statutory framework.
  • Strong understanding of child development, particularly for toddlers.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team effectively.
  • Confident in planning and delivering high-quality, play-based learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures (in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education).
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, observations, and learning journeys.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements within an early years setting

   Desirable

  • Knowledge of technology to support children’s learning
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with the Birth to 5 Matters or Development Matters guidance.
  • Training in schemas or heuristic play.
  • Awareness of the Curiosity Approach or similar child-led pedagogy.
