Contract:
Full-time and permanent
Salary: Leadership Scale L10-L16
Clarendon School is a vibrant and inclusive special academy in the London Borough of Richmond, for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and additional complex needs (including Autism).
We are currently expanding our outstanding
provision with the opening of the Clarendon Riverside Centre; a new
purpose-built facility in Petersham. Opening in Autumn 2026, this
state-of-the-art building will provide a sustainable, safe and inspiring
learning environment for 78 pupils aged 4–19.
We
are looking to appoint a visionary Head of Centre to lead the launch and
day-to-day operation of this exciting new provision. Joining us one term in
advance of opening, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the
pre-opening phase, leading the recruitment of a new staff team and ensuring the
school is fully operational to welcome our first pupils.
You
will join an established Senior Leadership Team under the direction of our
Executive Headteacher. You will be expected to lead by example, promoting the
ethos and values of the school while ensuring the highest quality of teaching
and learning. You will manage the daily operations of the centre, lead the
teaching and learning culture, and build strong, supportive relationships with
parents, therapists, and the wider community.
You
will need to be organised, dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive, with a
relentless focus on achieving the best outcomes for our pupils. This is a rare,
career-defining opportunity to shape a school culture from the ground up. We
will give you the opportunity and support to provide successful strategic
leadership in a brand-new setting, backed by the security and network offered
by the Auriga Academy Trust.
This post is particularly suitable for candidates with extensive experience in special schools or SEND settings who are looking to take the next step in their leadership journey.
Closing date for applications: Monday 19 January at 9:00am
Interviews: 29th & 30th January
