We are seeking a committed and compassionate
Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored learning, pastoral and social
and emotional support for our pupils with additional needs. Working under the
direction of the Assistant Headteacher (SEND), you will be at the forefront of
the middle school’s SEND provision. You will work with colleagues, pupils
and parents/carers to build strong, positive relationships to enable all pupils
to fulfil their potential and access all the opportunities we have to offer.
You will be ambitious for the success of our pupils and will establish an
environment where high expectations are embedded, alongside a calm, relational
and supportive approach to ensure our pupils can thrive.
We are a large and flourishing middle school set
in the historical market town of Hexham and are co-located with Queen Elizabeth
High School as part of Hadrian Learning Trust. In September 2021, we moved into
brand new school buildings with state-of-the-art learning facilities. We
cherish the strong partnerships that exist between pupils, parents/carers,
staff, and the local community, making this a successful, friendly, and
welcoming school. Pupils at HMS have an eagerness to learn and achieve very
well academically. We pride ourselves on the care we give the children at HMS.
The successful applicant will access a supportive
induction and training package. We are happy to discuss any reasonable
adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, on
commencement, or once in post.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting
the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this
commitment. The successful applicant will be required to obtain a satisfactory
Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
We reserve the right to amend or withdraw this advert at any time.
Please see the job
description for more details.
The closing date for applications is Friday
5th June 9am with interview dates to be confirmed.
