About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your rowing knowledge and coaching skills to a successful and ambitious school-based rowing club in the Northeast of England.  Queen Elizabeth High School Rowing Club has a focus on providing a holistic athlete centred approach to coaching.  This has resulted in achieving success on the national and international stage including fostering future Olympians.  Over the last year the club has competed at the highest national youth level, including the Fours Head, Schools Head in London on the Thames, Junior Inter Regional Regatta (JIRR) at the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham; National Schools Regatta at Eton Dorney, at the British Junior Rowing Championships also at Nottingham.  We also enter rowers in Beach Sprints, having previously had a GB Bronze.  At this year’s Schools Indoors, the club won Year 9 events for Women and Open as well as Year 11 Open.

The club has also competed at, and won, many events across the Northeast and Scotland.

What this club achieves is very impressive, but we know that more can be achieved.  We are looking for a motivated and inspiring junior rowing coach to develop the 100+ young rowers to achieve their athletic potential.

Queen Elizabeth High School in Hexham is a state school with a strong emphasis on academic achievement, community involvement, and a commitment to safeguarding students.
