About this Role

Join Millennium Primary School as our SENDCo

Hours:  27.5 hours per week  Contract: Permanent Start Date: September 2026 Actual Salary: MPS/UPR + TLR

Millennium Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and strategic Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to lead and further develop provision for pupils with SEND across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner and leader who is passionate about inclusion and equity, and who wishes to play a key role in shaping whole-school practice so that every pupil is supported to achieve their potential.

Millennium Primary School is a diverse, ambitious and inclusive school on the Greenwich Peninsula. We value collaboration, high expectations and developing the whole child academically, socially and emotionally. Our community reflects the richness of our local area, and we are proud to celebrate individuality and aspiration in all that we do.

Millennium Primary School is part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a forward-thinking and collaborative Trust serving communities across Greenwich, Kent and Medway.

The Opportunity

As SENDCo at Millennium, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the school’s inclusive culture and ensuring that pupils with SEND thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Working closely with the Head of School and leadership team, you will provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of SEND provision, ensuring high-quality support is embedded across classrooms and interventions. You will influence whole-school practice, support colleagues to develop inclusive teaching approaches and work collaboratively with families and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for pupils.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop SEND provision across a diverse, ambitious primary school

  • Shape inclusive practice and contribute to whole-school improvement

  • Work collaboratively with staff, families and multi-agency partners

  • Use data and insight to evaluate impact and drive improvement

  • Support pupils’ access to the full curriculum and wider school life

  • Develop and lead staff through coaching, CPD and collaboration

You will be trusted as a key leader of inclusion at Millennium, with the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference.

Who You Are

We are looking for a SENDCo who is:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS

  • Holds, or is working towards, the National Award for SEN Coordination

  • Passionate about inclusive education and equity

  • Strategic, organised and reflective in their practice

  • Confident in building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

  • An excellent practitioner who can influence and support others

  • Ambitious for pupils with SEND and for whole-school inclusion

What We Offer

At Millennium, part of Maritime Academy Trust, we believe great leaders deserve great support. We offer:

  • A unique, inspiring location in one of London’s most historically rich and scenic areas, just moments away from green spaces and easy access to the city.

  • A supportive and experienced leadership team

  • A collaborative, inclusive school culture

  • Opportunities to influence and shape SEND provision strategically

  • Trust-wide professional networks and development

  • Access to high-quality CPD via LearnUpon

  • A commitment to staff wellbeing including an Employee Assistance Programme and Mental Health First Aiders

  • Opportunities for career progression across the Trust
