This isn’t just your first job in teaching — it’s the start of a long-term career, and we’re committed to helping you build it well.

About Brooklands & Maritime

Brooklands Primary School is a welcoming, inclusive school where children and staff are known, valued and supported to be their best. We believe in nurturing confident, curious learners and creating a culture where everyone feels they belong.

We are proud to be part of the Maritime Academy Trust — a collaborative network of schools across Greenwich, Kent and Medway, committed to innovation, professional development and giving every child the best possible start.

About The Role

As an ECT at Brooklands, you’ll be part of a warm, experienced team who are invested in your success. You’ll benefit from a structured induction, excellent mentoring, and the space to develop your confidence, classroom practice and professional identity.

You’ll teach a KS2 class and be supported to:

  • Develop high-quality classroom practice

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues

  • Reflect on your teaching and grow with confidence

  • Embed inclusive, engaging and effective learning approaches

You’ll never be expected to “figure it out alone” — we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Who You Are

We welcome applications from ECTs who:

  • Have (or will hold) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Are passionate about making a difference to children’s lives

  • Are reflective, curious and eager to keep learning

  • Believe relationships are at the heart of great teaching

  • Want to grow in a supportive, values-driven school

What We Offer

At Brooklands, and as part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we offer more than just a job — we offer a community and a career pathway.

You’ll benefit from:

  • A fully supported ECT induction with an experienced mentor

  • A 1st July start so you are paid over the summer holidays

  • Trust-wide ECT networks and opportunities to connect with peers

  • A friendly, inclusive and collaborative school culture

  • Children who are kind, curious and eager to learn

  • High-quality CPD through our LearnUpon platform with bite-sized learning modules tailored to a busy teaching schedule

  • Opportunities for progression across the Trust over time

  • Wellbeing support, including an Employee Assistance Programme and access to Mental Health Champions and First Aiders

Ready to Take Your First Step?

We warmly encourage you to visit Brooklands and see what makes our school special.  To arrange a visit, please contact the school office on 020 8852 8210.

You’ll find further details in the Candidate Information Pack. Apply via My New Term — we may interview and appoint as applications are received, so early applications are encouraged.

Brooklands Primary School and the Maritime Academy Trust embraces diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and pre-employment checks in line with safeguarding guidance.
