We are currently recruiting a Level 4 Teaching Assistant (class teacher 3.5 days a week in green pathway complex needs class).

Job Role: Level 4 Teaching Assistant 

Location: Highfield Ely Academy, Ely, Cambridgeshire

Hours: 22.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Salary: Grade F £14,357.62 - £15,317.99 Actual Salary

Retention Allowance: £1,987.98 - £2,120.96

Honorarium: £2,100.00

Contracted Overtime Annually: £2,263.24 - £2,414.62

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting students with special educational needs in a dynamic and nurturing environment. This post-holder will have shared responsibility for supporting a class teacher in leading a green pathway class.

The successful candidate will lead a group of learners within Highfield, working alongside a class teacher. They will deliver a sensory curriculum to a group of learners with a high level of sensory and communication needs. The post holder will have a good support network within a supportive and open staff team. There will be many opportunities for training and development within the role, including teacher training if appropriate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivery of a sensory based curriculum
  • Effective communication within the staff team to meet the complex needs of a group of adult learners
  • Liaising with the range of internal and external professionals in order that the learners needs are met
  • Working with the teaching team in further developing our curriculum in Highfield and related assessment systems

Requirements:

  • Passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage but not essential.
