About this Role

Greet School is a 4-form entry primary school in the heart of Sparkhill providing the best education for children in an area experiencing high levels of deprivation.

This exciting role will be based at the heart of our school.  You will work as part of a wider pastoral team to support our pupils and families across a range of their existing or emerging support needs to include health, emotional, social and behavioural development.

You will have a key role in working with DSL colleagues in developing, delivering and ensuring the school’s Child Protection & Safeguarding procedures are robust and fit for purpose. You will work to ensure Child Protection & Safeguarding is thorough and effective in protecting all pupils.  You will also play a significant supporting role in promoting good attendance & punctuality and will work closely with appropriate members of the school’s Inclusion and Senior Leadership Team.

We anticipate that this role will commence as soon as possible subject to appropriate checks.

 Key Responsibilities:

  •      To identify pupils and families in need of additional support and promote effective homeschool partnerships.
  •     To engage with vulnerable children and families in order to formulate a package of support where necessary.
  •     To build effective relationships with families and establish good home-school links.
  •     To undertake outreach work, with parents in the home and the community, to provide information, guidance and support on a range of issues and interventions to include one to one, group work etc.
  •      To maintain regular contact with families of children receiving support to encourage positive family involvement in the child’s learning.
  •     To ensure that parents are fully involved in their child’s pastoral care /academic performance by establishing regular contact with those in the most need.
  •     To ensure the ‘Inclusive Attendance’ process is efficient and implemented timely and effectively to improve attendance across the school, and supporting the administration of attendance.
