What you do today can improve all your tomorrows…
Welcome to Cedars Academy - a richly diverse community with a culture embedded with opportunities.
At Cedars, we believe that everyone has the right to shine. Our job is to prepare children not just for lessons today, but for life tomorrow. We want them to be ready to succeed in their world, confident in themselves, and ambitious for what they can achieve.
Our values guide how we do this every day. Here’s what they mean in practice:
Respect is shown in the little things: listening carefully, speaking kindly, remembering people’s names, and noticing how others are feeling. We want everyone to feel valued, heard, and cared for.
We help everyone to take charge of their learning. That means giving clear feedback, coaching them to make choices, and showing that mistakes aren’t failures — they’re stepping stones to success. Independence grows when we are trusted to take responsibility.
Life isn’t always easy, and that’s okay. We model how to keep going when things get tough — to pause, think about solutions, and try again. With determination and a positive attitude, challenges can be overcome and goals achieved.
Fairness matters. We challenge inequality, remove barriers, and provide the right support for everybody. Equality doesn’t mean giving everyone the same — it means making sure everyone has what they need to succeed.
We honour all of those who came before and their role in shaping the community that we are today. We recognise that we are all part of a bigger story — family, culture, community, and our shared world. Knowing where we come from helps us to know who we are, and gives us strength to grow into that which we want to pass on to those yet to come.
These values aren’t just words; they’re how we live and learn together every day. They shape the way we talk, the way we treat each other, and the way we dream big for the future.
Together — children, families, and staff — we are building a school community where everyone feels respected, supported, and inspired to do their very best
This post is considered "regulated activity" (or involves regular access to our school sites) and is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS check with a check of the Children’s Barred List. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity.
All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.
In line with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), we will conduct an online search on all shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence process. We will discuss any information flagged during this process with the candidate during the interview stage before making a final recruitment decision.
