The Role 

Hours: 0.4 FTE

Stanwick Primary School are looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Coordinator working part-time to support the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school. This role will include supporting the early identification of needs and supporting the CPD of teachers to ensure all pupils are well supported to achieve their potential.

Key Tasks: 

  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability 

  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies 

    Lead on strategic direction of SEND in the school alongside the Principal.

  • The SENCO may also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. 

About You 

You will need:  

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND or relevant qualifications 

  • Excellent understanding of SEND Code of Practice and current legislation 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills 

  • A passion for fostering an inclusive learning environment 

  • The ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents
