About this Role

We are delighted to invite applications for a Part-Time Nursery Assistant to join our warm, welcoming, and nurturing nursery, set within our wonderful school community.  If you are passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their learning journey, we would love to hear from you.

Hours:  20 hours per week

Shift: 9am- 1pm, Monday to Friday

Working weeks: 38 weeks per year (Term time only)

Paid weeks: 43.699 per year (includes holiday entitlement)

FTE Salary: £24,469.00 

Contract: Maternity Cover

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who is committed to supporting children to thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

 

About the Role

You will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning within our nursery and reception provision. Working closely with Nursery manager and wider EYFS team, you will help create a safe, stimulating and engaging environment where every child can flourish.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning, development and care of children aged 2–5
  • Deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
  • Foster positive relationships with children, staff and families
  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
  • Observe, assess and contribute to children’s progress records
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Experience working within an early years setting
  • A warm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

About Pelynt Primary Academy

Pelynt Academy and Pre-School caters for children aged 2-11. We are a rural school based in the heart of Pelynt village, near the coastal town of Looe. We have approximately 100 children in the school, an exceptionally dedicated staff team and a wonderful environment within which children can flourish.

We pride ourselves in offering a curriculum that inspires and excites our children to have a love of knowledge and learning. Our school helps all children to believe in themselves and to excel in their own individual way. We appreciate that no two children are the same and the teaching philosophy here allows children to be themselves, whilst enabling them to develop and progress.
