About this Role

At Polperro Primary Academy, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Teacher (year 3) to join our small, friendly and supportive team.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, passionate and committed to providing the very best for our children, with a desire to continue developing their own teaching practice.

We are a warm and welcoming school with wonderful, motivated learners and highly supportive parents.

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed-term maternity cover position, starting in February 2026.

 As a Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners across a range of abilities.
• Create engaging classroom experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
• Use adaptive teaching approaches to ensure every pupil is supported and challenged appropriately.
• Work closely with colleagues, including teaching assistants and specialist staff, to provide targeted support and interventions where needed.
• Contribute actively to the wider life of the school, leading enrichment opportunities and promoting our values across the community.
• Reflect on and develop your practice within a trust that values collaboration, professional growth, and continuous improvement.

·      - Experience of working in KS2 is desirable

·      - A holistic approach and an understanding of attachment and childhood development are also desirable

·       -Experience of using adaptive teaching approaches to meet the needs of a wide range of learners is desirable

·       -Experience of leading a core curriculum subject is desirable but not essential

·       -Experience of teaching ‘Read Write Inc’ is desirable

This post is best suited for experienced teachers but we are open to applications from Early Careers Teachers.

About Polperro Primary Academy

Polperro Primary Academy is a happy and thriving School for children aged 2 to 11 years and is often described as ‘somewhere special’ by visitors, parents and children alike. We currently have 102 children on roll across four classes and our pre-school nursery, and provide a seamless transition between nursery and primary school. In addition to our creative and well-qualified teaching staff, we have excellent teaching assistants who work across the school supporting and enhancing children’s learning. All of these staff are dedicated to providing pupils with quality learning opportunities and take immense pride in their work and in doing the best job they can to support the school.
