About this Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join our successful and supportive department. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons across all Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire a love of literature and language, foster academic excellence, and contribute to a vibrant learning community committed to high achievement and student success.

We welcome applications from experienced and ambitious teachers  who are committed to fostering a love of reading, writing, and learning in all students.

As a valued member of our team, you will work within a supportive and collaborative department that places student progress, curriculum innovation, and professional development at the heart of its practice. You will have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum enrichment, literacy initiatives, extracurricular activities, and whole-school improvement.

At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain  challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.

If you are passionate about English education and committed to helping young people develop the confidence, creativity, and communication skills they need to succeed, we would be delighted to hear from you.
