Pinner High is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Business Studies (with second subject) to lead a thriving department committed to excellence in teaching and learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious teacher with a passion for business education and a desire to make a real impact.
We are an “outstanding secondary school” with a strong commitment to academic excellence, student development, and innovation in the classroom. As the Head of Business Studies, you will lead the strategic development of the Business Studies curriculum at KS4 and KS5, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement whilst supporting and developing a team of dedicated teachers. You will have a focus on monitoring student progress and use data to drive improvement alongside contributing to whole-school initiatives and leadership.
At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and motivated teacher with a strong commitment to business education to contribute significantly to student achievement and the continued development and success of the department.
For the right candidate there are further TLR responsibilities available.
