About this Role

We are seeking an outstanding and forward-thinking Head of Spanish to lead and develop our Spanish department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate linguist and experienced teacher who is ready to step into—or continue in—a leadership role within our thriving school

You will be responsible for the strategic direction, teaching and learning, and continued development of Spanish across all key stages. You will lead a dedicated team and play a key role in shaping a rich and engaging languages curriculum that inspires students and promotes high levels of achievement.

As a member of our school you can expect a wealth of benefits from access to excellent CPD, work/life support and 3 weeks break at Christmas. We have exceptional transport links via train, bus and underground, free gym access and a welcoming community.

At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain  challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.

Lead a thriving Spanish department and inspire the next generation of linguists!
