About this Role

To work with  range of students, giving priority to those who need the most help, especially those with a Statement of Special Education Needs or an Education, Health and Care plan and others with additional learning needs.  As a Learning Support Assistant you will support identified individuals in accessing the social and academic curriculum in the most effective way, ensuring this is appropriate to their needs and understanding and to bring life to the school motto of 'Inspiring Learning'.

As a student keyworker you will support the development, learning and progress of children and young people to maximise their academic and personal progress.  This will include contributing to effective personalised provision by taking practical account of diversity, supporting their access to the curriculum in accordance with the special educational needs code of practice and disabilities legislation.  You will be the first point of contact for any issues or support that you need to discuss and will monitor key students academic progress.

Working alongside teaching staff you will keep student profiles updated, support additional interventions when required, contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities and support in the selection and preparation of resource suitable for children and young persons interests and abilities.
