At Pinner High School we are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Science looking for possibilities to grow as a leader. Your lessons will be engaging and inspiring for students but also provide you with the opportunity to develop as a leader or contribute to science initiatives, extra curricular projects or departmental strategy. In the classroom, you will create an environment that encourages questions, curiosity, and a thirst for knowledge and as a member of the science team you will participate in its growth, support and mentor early careers teachers and overall contribute to the schools improvement plan.
As a member of our school you can expect a wealth of benefits from access to excellent CPD, work/life support and 3 weeks break at Christmas. We have exceptional transport links via train, bus and underground, free gym access and a welcoming community.
At Pinner High School, our pedagogical approach is based on the principles of Rosenshine. All our lessons begin with a do now activity, aimed at recalling knowledge. In addition, a high proportion of students are categorised as higher ability, we therefore expect appropriate challenge in learning. Learning episodes contain challenge tasks in addition to main activities which support the progression of all students. Students often use green pens to self assess work and teachers use expert subject knowledge for assessment for learning.
