About this Role

Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: Venturers’ Academy, Bristol

E-ACT Venturers’ Academy | Where everything’s possible

We are proud to lead a school where every child is known, valued, and supported to thrive. Venturers Academy is a specialist academy for students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), dedicated to providing an exceptional, nurturing environment where every learner can flourish.

Our approach is built on high aspirations, personalised support, and an unwavering belief in our students’ potential. We celebrate individuality, build confidence, and empower young people to achieve meaningful success, academically, socially, and emotionally.

Venturers Academy is based across three sites: our Secondary site at Hareclive Road, and two Primary sites at Withywood Road and St Anne’s Park. Each site is a place of opportunity, collaboration, and growth.

Whether you are an experienced educator or just beginning your journey in education, we offer a supportive, inclusive environment where your talents will be nurtured, your professional development encouraged, and your contributions truly valued.

At Venturers Academy, we do more than educate, we inspire, support, and enable every child, and every colleague, to reach their full potential.

Venturers’ Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (Level 5/6) to join our specialist team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our pupils. Working within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment, you will play a vital role in enabling children and young people with a range of complex needs to access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred therapy and thrives in a collaborative educational setting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assess the occupational therapy needs of pupils with a range of complex learning, physical, sensory, and developmental needs.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate individualised intervention programmes to support pupils’ access to learning and daily living skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to embed therapeutic strategies within the classroom and wider school environment.
  • Provide specialist advice, guidance, and training to staff and parents/carers to ensure consistency of approach.
  • Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including setting outcomes and reviewing progress.

Pay range:

  • NJC 36 - 40 - £44,689.07 - £48,643.57
  • FTE - £47,181.00 - £51,356.00
  • 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year
  • Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience of working with children and young people, ideally within a school or specialist education setting.
  • Knowledge of a range of complex needs, including autism, sensory processing differences, physical disabilities, and developmental delays.
  • Ability to assess, plan, and deliver effective, individualised therapy interventions.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
