Why this school?
Join the Landscove team to unlock the very
best of everyone. Landscove is a school that is built on
success stories; some big, some small, some public and some private. The
message is simple - for all the children to feel the warm glow of success and
be motivated individuals who are constantly striving to unlock their potential
to do exceptional things. Could you help Landscove continue to make a
difference?
Landscove is a small, thriving church school, built in 1854. It can be
found in Landscove village, surrounded by rolling fields and farms, being
between Ashburton, Buckfastleigh and Staverton. There is a long history of
providing a safe and secure learning environment where all the children can
grow and flourish. Landscove encourages pupils to become curious, independent,
and active learners, supported by the ethos rooted in our Christian values of
respect, responsibility, perseverance, trust, empathy and forgiveness. Above
all, they believe that if you…“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you
will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” – a vision to enable all to
flourish.
Landscove is a vibrant and exciting place to work in, yet the small
size enables them to know every child, understand their needs, their talents
and the things that motivate them. Whether it is playing a significant role in
one of the school performances or simply mastering the 5 times table, the team
at Landscove believe that success is a key ingredient in the production of
happy children who are ready to play a positive role both within and beyond the
school gates.
With links to their partner schools within the Trust, the church and
the local community, the children are given varied learning experiences. As
they move through the school the children are given opportunities to develop
their talents in a range of different ways that will underpin their confidence
and enable them to achieve the “impossible”. Whilst on this journey they learn
how important it is support everyone else and work in harmony to make this
little school a very special place to be.
