Portway Primary School is seeking a skilled and proactive Admissions Manager to play a pivotal role at the heart of our school community. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same and where your work directly supports children, families, and school leadership.

About the Role

As Admissions Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage all school and nursery admissions, from first enquiry to transition

  • Be the welcoming face of Portway, supporting families, pupils, and visitors

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school office and admin systems

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Leadership Team

  • Maintain accurate pupil data and reporting using Arbor and other systems

  • Play a vital role in safeguarding, communication, and school organisation

You will work closely with leaders, staff, families, and external agencies, ensuring every child’s journey into and through Portway starts well.


About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly organised, calm, and confident managing competing priorities

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and MIS systems (e.g. Arbor)

  • Understands the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professionalism

  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and using initiative

  • Is passionate about supporting children and families in a school environment

Experience in school administration or admissions is highly desirable, but most important is your commitment, reliability, and people skills.
