Main Duties
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Early Years Education Support Assistant, to join our friendly and dedicated team.
Buildwas Academy has mixed Year Group classes. This role will be working with children in Pre-School (aged 3) and Reception (aged 4-5).

· The candidate will hold a qualification that appears on this list.
· The candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills with both children and adults.
· Have the ability to provide high quality childcare, learning and development as part of a professional team.
· Have a keen sense of confidentiality.
· Have underpinning knowledge of safeguarding and 'how to keep children safe'.
· To provide a safe, exciting, fun environment that creates awe and wonder for children to develop and grow within and adhering to the EYFS framework.
· Have the ability to assist with assessing children's development in line with the Early Years outcomes.
· Understand ways in which young children effectively develop their knowledge, skills and understanding.
· Support children as individuals or within small groups under the guidance and direction of, and organised by, teaching staff.
· Liaise with the class teacher in discussing the focus for the children and report on the success or otherwise of the outcomes.
· Mark/ provide feedback for the work of children you have worked with, as directed by class teacher.
· Be able to 'think on their feet' and adapt in the moment reflecting children's interests.
· To uphold the ethos and support the vision of Mighty Oaks Academy Trust.
· Contribute to change and be active in future improvements in Early Years.
· Provide high standards of quality within the Early Years setting including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
· Observe, support and extend children's learning through planning appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
· Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
· Support children with SEND and individual targets as required under the direction of teaching staff and/or SENDCo.
· Promote learning and next steps of achievement in a positive and professional manner.
· Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
· Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.
· Comply with the Statutory Framework for the EYFS.
· Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
