Contract: Fixed term maternity cover

Paid weeks: 52.134 per year

 

About the Role

 At Copper Valley Junior Academy, we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 teacher to join our warm, ambitious and forward thinking team on a maternity cover basis.

Key Responsibilities

 The successful candidate will:

  • Plan and deliver high quality, inclusive lessons across KS2
  • Create engaging and stimulating learning experiences that inspire curiosity and a love of learning
  • Use adaptive teaching to support and challenge pupils across a range of abilities
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and secure subject knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants and specialist staff, to support pupil progress and targeted interventions
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment opportunities and school initiatives
  • Reflect on and develop their practice within a supportive and forward thinking Trust

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in upper KS2. A working knowledge of White Rose Maths and Grammarsaurus would be advantageous.

About the School

 Copper Valley Junior and Infant and Nursery Academies have approximately 160 pupils on roll, This comprises of 90 children in the Juniors and 70 children in the Infant and Nursery school. We are also fortunate to have an Area Resource Base (The ARC), supporting up to 8 children with additional needs. Set within a beautiful rural location on the edge of the Tamar Valley, the school benefits from a unique natural environment. Outdoor learning plays an important role in the curriculum, supporting creativity, wellbeing and engagement.
