About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the primary school setting while leading the development and implementation of the English curriculum across the school. This role requires balancing the responsibilities of leading English provision and leading a class effectively to ensure high-quality education and achievement for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all children in the class.
  • Create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that fosters children's curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes respect, inclusion, and positive behaviour management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices for teaching and learning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the English curriculum across the school.
  • Contribute to the school's curriculum development, ensuring it meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by leading staff meetings and professional development sessions.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and curriculum planning.

  • Believes in each child and has high aspirations for their achievement.
  • Evidence of professional development relevant to English leadership and curriculum development.
  • Experience in leading English curriculum development.
  • Proven track record of improving pupil outcomes in English.
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has great ideas and is eager to share them!
  • Delights in being with children and puts their well-being at the heart of everything.
  • Sincerely values every member of the school community.
  • Has the ability to make learning fun and engaging, ensuring all children are appropriately challenged.
