About this Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing and development. You will help to remove barriers to learning, ensuring all children can access the curriculum and thrive within a safe and supportive environment.

You will provide support across the classroom, including one-to-one support and small group interventions, helping pupils build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general classroom support to teachers and pupils

• Support pupils’ learning in literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum

• Work with individual pupils and small groups, including pupils with SEND

• Assist with pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development

• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies

• Prepare classroom areas and learning resources as directed

• Support assessment, monitoring and recording of pupil progress

• Supervise pupils during breaktimes and lunchtimes

• Accompany pupils and staff on educational visits where required

• Ensure safeguarding, welfare and inclusion remain a priority at all times

We are looking for someone who is positive, enthusiastic and committed to supporting pupils’ learning, and can build caring, professional relationships with children and adults. A good general standard of education, particularly in English and Maths, is required. Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential. Speech and Language qualification is desirable but not essential. Leodis Academies Trust and our individual Academies are committed to ‘Forging Young Futures’. To do this, each Academy has its own ethos and identity and has the freedom to develop individually as well as working collaboratively to secure high quality outcomes for all its young people. By providing an extensive curriculum, both within and beyond the classroom, we cater for the wide range of talent and ability that our students have to offer. We work tirelessly to improve the life chances of all our young people and support them to make a positive contribution to their community.
