A key part of the role as an apprentice is to develop the skills
required to be able to perform the role of a Qualified Early Years Teaching
Assistant. This will involve completion of the Level 3 qualification in
Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent.
As an Early Years
Teaching Assistant Apprentice you will provide the support that will help our
children succeed. You will offer general
support to the teacher in the management of pupils, classroom activities and
assistance in the provision of the wider school curriculum. Working
compassionately, you will work with our teachers to secure good progress for
all children, regardless of their abilities and capabilities. You will support
the teaching of our children one to one, in groups, and as part of the whole
class, while actively promoting the ethos and values of the school. You will
also receive time within the working day to work towards your apprenticeship
and will receive support from the school with a mentor.
The post offers
challenge, reward and role development for the right candidate. The role will
be based at Westerton Primary Academy with opportunities to work with other
professionals across the Trust.
