About this Role

“What I love about Tower Hill is that we don’t just teach subjects; we build explorers. Whether we are checking off an ‘Adventure Log’ badge or finding a quiet corner on the Library Bus, there is a real sense of pride in how our children support one another.” Charley Eaglestone, Headteacher.

As our Year 2/3 class teacher, you will be the guide for children at a wonderful crossroads in their primary journey. You aren’t just delivering a curriculum; you are helping our Year 2s find their confidence as they prepare for KS2, and supporting our Year 3s as they step into new challenges.

You will join a team that values "grit" and kindness—the same qualities our Year 6s recently showed on their residential trip. At Tower Hill, you’ll have the professional agency to make the classroom your own, backed by a staff team that steps up for one another and a community that truly thrives together.

Working hours: part time, 0.6 FTE (Wed, Thurs, Fri)

This role is offered on a FTC basis until 31 August 2026.

The successful candidate will be supported in the class by 2 TAs.

What we can offer

  • A warm and welcoming school with a pastoral, caring atmosphere and a clear vision

  • Hard-working, established Teaching Assistants and a strong, supportive, hands-on SLT

  • A committed board of governors which provides an appropriate level of support and challenge

  • A quirky working environment, with fantastic outdoor facilities including a large sports field, a forest-school Dell and a Library Bus

  • The opportunity to make a significant impact on our children and our school

  • The opportunity to work for a successful and growing multi-academy trust which cares about your professional development.

If you would like to chat to our Headteacher, either over the phone or to come for a site visit, please do contact the school Office who will arrange a convenient time with you: office@towerhillschool.org.uk or 01993702599.

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At RLT, we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. Schools in RLT are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to shared principles.

OUR VISION is for our schools and SCITT to improve rapidly, continuously and sustainably: to be better faster together.

OUR ‘WHY?’ is that children and young people ‘only get one go’ in school and therefore as part of RLT we aim to ensure the best possible ‘go’ for our pupils.

OUR ‘HOW?’ is through the highest support and challenge for our schools and each other, underpinned by our principles.

Our employees benefit from a wide variety of support including extensive  continuing professional learning and development opportunities, wellbeing and staff networks and access to Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (TPS and LGPS) for all staff. For more information on what it is like to work for the Trust, and the benefits you could access, please see our “Working in RLT” guide.

This role includes regulated activity relevant to children.

The school reserves the right to consider and interview candidates ahead of the closing date if appropriate. An offer may be made to an exceptional candidate in this instance.

The River Learning Trust and Tower Hill School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism.   The Trust is required to conduct a variety of checks and online searches about you as part of their recruitment process in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. It is an offence to apply for certain roles within schools if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
