About this Role

The role involves monitoring attendance, working closely with pupils, families and staff, and providing early intervention and support where attendance is a concern. You will liaise with external agencies as requiredmaintain accurate records, follow the local authority attendance pathway and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture. The successful candidate will be organised, approachable, and confident in communicating with parents and professionals to help every child achieve their full potential. 

You will also support pupils’ mental health and emotional development by providing early intervention, one-to-one and small-group support, and promoting positive wellbeing across the school community. You will identify children who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, deliver age-appropriate wellbeing programmes, and work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create consistent and effective support plans. You will help pupils develop coping strategies, resilience, and social skills, contribute to safeguarding and pastoral care processes, and play an active role in whole-school initiatives that foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
