About this Role

Teaching and Learning  Assistant to support SEND pupil/s and teach phonics/ maths

Termly Time only

39 weeks per year

8.15am to  11am  and 1.30-3.30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday Friday,  8.15am to 11am, 1.30pm to 4pm Tuesday

Do you have a passion for supporting all pupils? 

We are seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school team.  The successful candidate will support SEND pupils across the school and deliver high-quality Read, Write, Inc phonics interventions as well as Maths interventions , helping every child achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and engaging culture of attendance and learning

    Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Deliver structured phonics lessons and support classroom phonics teaching (e.g., using Read Write Inc.)

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt learning activities

  • Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents as appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience of support with trauma informed approaches

    Experience in increasing attendance and engagement of EBSNA pupils

    Experience working with children with SEND

  • Knowledge of or willingness to train in phonics programmes

  • A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

    A reliable and positive attitude
