About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner to join our team, working with 3-year-old children. This role is crucial in supporting early development by fostering communication skills, establishing daily routines, and promoting independence through structured activities. Our ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive.

The hours are 8.15am to 3.15pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. 8.15am to 3.15pm Tuesday.  You will be requied to work all training days as part of the 39 weeks contract.

Key Responsibilities:


Communication Development:

o   Engage children in meaningful conversations to enhance their language skills.

o   Encourage active listening and participation through storytelling, singing, and group discussions.

o   Support children in expressing their thoughts and feelings using age-appropriate vocabulary.

Routines and Structure:

o   Establish and maintain consistent daily routines to provide stability and security.

o   Guide children in key transitions such as arrival, playtime, snack breaks, and home time.

o   Encourage positive behavior through clear instructions and praise.

Snack Preparation and Healthy Eating:

o   Prepare and serve nutritious snacks, ensuring dietary needs and allergies are met.

o   Promote healthy eating habits by involving children in snack preparation activities.

o   Encourage good hygiene practices such as handwashing before and after meals.

Emotional and Social Support:

o   Foster positive relationships with children to build their confidence and self-esteem.

o   Encourage cooperative play, turn-taking, and teamwork to develop social skills.

Planning and Development:

o   Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and physical development.

o   Observe and assess children's progress to tailor support and learning opportunities accordingly

Inclusion:

Support all pupils development through planning and interventions
Working with outside agencies as required
Key Worker Responsibilities:

o   Act as a key worker for specific children, ensuring their individual needs are met.

o   Maintain records of children's progress and share this information with parents during consultations.
