Are you an enthusiastic teacher looking for a new and exciting challenge?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Academy for an enthusiastic and inspirational History teacher. As a qualified teacher, you will have the experience and the ability to teach across the ability range for KS3/4. The successful candidates will have a keen interest in innovative teaching strategies and commitment to developing their leadership skills. Candidates will have the ability to inspire students to achieve excellent results. Cockshut Hill is a developing and improving school and this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of and support that journey of school improvement.
About our school
Cockshut Hill School (rated Good with Outstanding features on our recent Ofsted inspection) is part of the Summit Learning Trust comprising Cockshut Hill, Lyndon School, Ninestiles, an Academy, five primary schools and the Solihull Sixth Form College. Our trust’s Professional Learning Institute offers all of our staff opportunities to collaborate with great educators from across our sector. We are one of the few schools in Birmingham to receive The Rights Respecting Schools, UNICEF UK Gold Award, for successfully embedding children’s rights throughout the school in our practices and ethos. There is a strong culture of safeguarding and staff work positively with the leadership team to ensure students are kept safe.

Adhere to the Academy’s system for recording and reporting individual learner performance ensuring compliance with all deadlines.
Establish clear and constructive working relationships with other colleagues, focusing on maximising learner progress
About You
Qualified Teacher Status required
Evidence of committing to Continuing Personal Development
Proven ability to demonstrate good teaching ensuring all students make excellent progress
Successful and relevant secondary teaching experience
Clear understanding and detailed knowledge of current curriculum and assessment requirements and developments
Proven ability to manage behaviour both within class and throughout the school
Knowledge of the regulations around safeguarding and how to address any issues that might arise
Commitment to your professional development with high quality CPD opportunities and career progression.
