About this Role

This role is fixed term to cover maternity- starting from April 2026 up until March 2027 or upon the return of the post holder. It is a part time contract (0.6) and the working days are Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

The successful candidates will have the ability to inspire students to achieve excellent results. Our friendly, thriving, and supportive teams believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things as we further develop innovative teaching and learning strategies. You should be able to teach Art and Design technology across the ability range for KS3 and KS4 (desirable, but not essential). Cockshut Hill is a developing and improving school and this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of and support that journey of school improvement.

Cockshut Hill School is part of the Summit Learning Trust comprising Cockshut Hill, Lyndon School, Ninestiles, an Academy, four primary schools and the Solihull Sixth Form College. Key Responsibilities

• To carry out the professional duties as reasonably requested by the Principal.
• To be a consistently ‘good’ and often ‘outstanding’ teacher who meets the relevant set of personal professional standards for the specific pay phase, and takes responsibility for personal professional development.
• To act as a role-model for students and other members of staff and represent the school in a manner consistent with its ethos and values.
• To ensure that all work with students underpins and promotes the school’s ethos and values as reflected in the mission statement of the Summit Learning Trust.
• To promote and safeguard the welfare of all students at Cockshut Hill, an Academy, Summit Learning Trust.

About You

• Evidence of committing to Continuing Personal Development
• Proven ability to demonstrate good teaching ensuring all students make excellent progress
• Successful and relevant secondary teaching experience
• Clear understanding and detailed knowledge of current curriculum and assessment requirements and developments
• Proven ability to manage behaviour both within class and throughout the school
• Knowledge of the regulations around safeguarding and how to address any issues that might arise
