About this Role

Are you someone who loves seeing children thrive? At St Thomas CofE Primary School, lunchtime is more than a break — it’s a vital part of our pupils’ day, and we’re looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to help make it the best it can be.

Rooted in our Christian values of respect, compassion and community, St Thomas is a happy and nurturing school where every child is known and valued. You’ll be joining a friendly, committed team that takes real pride in the school’s inclusive and supportive culture.

About the role -In this role you will:

Supervise pupils in the dining hall and on the playground, ensuring a safe and positive environment

Support children in developing their social skills, independence and confidence at mealtimes

Promote and model positive behaviour, high expectations and a calm lunchtime atmosphere

Guide pupils in following school routines and procedures, offering encouragement and clear boundaries

Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth, well-organised running of lunchtime provision

Respond promptly and calmly to any incidents, reporting concerns to the appropriate member of staff

What We Are Looking For

Work well as part of a team, contributing positively to the lunchtime environment

Understand and uphold the importance of safeguarding and child protection in a school setting

Speak fluent English in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016

Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential — a positive attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.

What We Offer

A strong ethos of professional development and staff wellbeing

Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme

       A comprehensive wellbeing package
