About this Role

Hill View Primary, Reach South Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an experienced Read Write Inc. Assessment Lead to join the school on 1st September 2026

Post: RWI Assessment Leader

Location: Hill View Primary, Hill View Road, Bournemouth, BH10 5BD

FTE Salary Range: BG4 scale point 6 - 9; £25,989 - £27,254

Actual Salary Range: £15,626 - £16,387 (Pro Rata)

Contract Type: Permanent, term time only (39 weeks per year)

Contract Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45am – 3pm 

About the role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about reading and books and who wants to help develop this in our pupils from the beginning of their time in school to ensure that every child becomes a fluent reader.

About the successful candidate:

We need someone who understands the central place of teaching children to decode letter and sound relationships in order to fluently read and will become the key person at the centre of our Read Write Inc approach to teaching at Hill View.

 They will need to have the confidence and independence to:

  • ·        Manage their time to ensure all the assessment required are completed and the progress of individuals is monitored including taking the lead in organising appropriate interventions for staff to implement;
  •             Deliver high quality phonics lessons to groups of children and to share good practice with colleagues;
  •             Support individual staff members (teachers and support staff) with their practice and resourcing of Read Write Inc.
  •            Be happy and confident in working with groups of children as well as working with them on an individual basis.

Senior Leader support and training inc RWI training (if required) will be provided as required.
