Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and class teacher to provide tailored support, ensuring the pupil can access learning and make progress in line with their EHCP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs
- Deliver structured interventions and support programmes as outlined in the EHCP
- Support the pupil’s social, emotional and academic development
- Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, class teacher, and wider support staff
- Help adapt classroom activities to meet the pupil’s needs
- Monitor and record progress against EHCP outcomes

Hours:
Part-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 12:30pm

Job
Purpose:
To provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil
with high needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), enabling them to
access learning, develop independence, and make progress in line with their
individual targets. The role involves working closely with the SENDCo and class
teacher to deliver targeted interventions and personalised support.
Key
Responsibilities:
Pupil Support
- Provide consistent, tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with complex
needs
- Implement strategies outlined in the EHCP to support learning and
development
- Promote independence, confidence and self-esteem
- Support the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Assist with transitions throughout the school day
Teaching and Learning
- Work with the class teacher to adapt and deliver learning
activities
- Deliver structured interventions and targeted support programmes
- Support engagement in lessons and access to the curriculum
- Use effective strategies to manage behaviour and support positive
outcomes
Monitoring and Assessment
- Observe and record the pupil’s progress against EHCP targets
- Provide feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo
- Contribute to review meetings and reports as required
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the SENDCo, class teacher and other professionals
- Communicate effectively with staff and, where appropriate,
parents/carers
- Contribute to planning and review of provision

Experience
& Knowledge:
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and
Disabilities (SEND)
- Understanding of EHCPs and how to support individual targets
- Experience of delivering or supporting targeted interventions
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
