About this Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Maths to deliver high-quality lessons that support students in achieving outstanding progress. The successful candidate will set clear learning targets, assess student progress with regular feedback, and ensure students are well-prepared for examinations.  With a genuine passion for Maths, you’ll help our students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, while staying up-to-date with current educational thinking. They will contribute to schemes of work, maintain a stimulating learning environment, and engage with parents and the wider school community. The role also involves taking responsibility for professional development and actively participating in school duties and performance management activities.

Subject Specific Information:

The Mathematics Faculty is a lively and busy faculty. In addition to this, we regularly host PGCE and trainee student teachers.   

The Head of Faculty who is line managed by a member of the Senior Team is supported in the leadership of the faculty by three Deputy Heads of Maths, each responsible for a Key Stage. We follow the Sparx Maths Curriculum for KS3 and KS4 and use Sparx Maths for students to complete homework tasks weekly. 

All Maths classrooms are equipped with an interactive whiteboard. We strongly encourage the sharing of resources within the faculty, and we will welcome the contributions and resources of the appointed person to support colleagues. 

At KS4 we follow the Edexcel specification, and we also offer the Edexcel Level 2 Extended Maths Certificate to those who wish to develop their thinking further as a bridge to A Level. 

At KS5, we off both Edexcel A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths.The ability to teach A Level Maths is desirable but not essential. We run a range of enrichment activities for students of all ages, including themed weeks, clubs, UKMT Maths challenges, interschool maths challenges and maths support sessions.
