Are you ready to teach where every achievement—no matter how small—matters deeply?
At Danecourt School, part of the Maritime Academy Trust, we’re seeking exceptional SEND Teachers to join our award-winning team. You’ll lead learning in one of our small specialist classes, teaching children with complex needs including autism, communication differences, and sensory processing challenges.
This is more than a teaching role — it’s a chance to make a lasting difference in a setting where care, creativity, and curiosity are celebrated.
You will:
Design and deliver personalised learning journeys aligned with EHCP outcomes and each pupil’s unique strengths.
Work closely with our talented teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral team to provide holistic support.
Build trusting relationships with families and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small.
Model inclusive, trauma-informed practice and contribute to the whole-school vision for inclusion.
Play a key part in shaping the next phase of Danecourt’s exciting growth
You’re an inspiring, patient, and passionate teacher who sees potential where others see challenge.
You bring:
QTS and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND.
Creativity and flexibility in planning meaningful, multisensory learning experiences.
Strong communication and teamwork skills — you thrive in a collaborative environment.
A reflective and resilient mindset, always seeking new ways to help pupils flourish.
Whether you’re an experienced SEND practitioner or a skilled mainstream teacher ready for a new challenge, we’ll help you grow into your next chapter.
At Danecourt, you’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking, and nurturing team that lives by our STARS values — Self-reliant, Team Player, Aspirational, Resilient, Successful.
Here’s what you can expect:
A role with real purpose — you won’t just be teaching, you’ll be unlocking potential. Every day brings moments of progress and joy as our children achieve things they never thought possible.
Protected PPA time, including one day every fortnight working from home.
Tailored CPD & Career Growth: from SEND specialism pathways to leadership development, we’re proud of our “grow our own” approach.
Innovative CPD delivered through our LearnUpon platform — bitesize, practical, and designed for busy teaching lives.
A holistic, child-centred environment with access to therapy support, outdoor learning, and sensory spaces — including our new immersive installation.
Collaboration across the Trust, sharing best practice and expertise through our Maritime Outreach Support Service.
A supportive team culture — united in purpose and proud to make a difference for children with SEND.
Staff wellbeing focus, including an Employee Assistance Programme, wellbeing leads, and a culture of care.
Proud Winner of the Medway Parents and Carers Forum SEND Award for Primary Special School Provision and holder of the Inclusion Quality Mark’s Inclusive School Award — recognising our commitment to excellence for every child and family.
