Whitehouse PRU is a primary Pupil Referral Unit in Hull that provides crucial support to pupils at risk of permanent exclusion from mainstream education. Specialising in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we are dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and those facing challenges in regulating their behaviour.
The
successful candidate will play a key role in modelling and communicating our
vision and values across the school community. They will help foster a culture
of both challenge and support, ensuring that all pupils and staff are empowered
to have a voice and achieve success.
This
role includes leadership of a core curriculum area, with responsibility for its
development, implementation, and ongoing improvement to enhance outcomes for
pupils with additional needs. Working closely with the senior leadership team,
the Assistant Principal will contribute to driving whole-school improvement and
maintaining high standards of teaching and learning at Whitehouse PRU.
We
are looking for an individual who understands the contextual challenges within
our setting and is deeply committed to improving outcomes for some of the most
vulnerable children in the city. The successful candidate will demonstrate high
expectations in learning, teaching, behaviour, and care, and will remain calm,
resilient, and solution-focused in the face of challenge.
The role includes a teaching commitment, alongside dedicated leadership time out of the classroom. You will be supported by an experienced and passionate leadership team who are committed to your professional development.
