We are looking to appoint a friendly, dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring pupils remain engaged in their learning whilst maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom management. In addition to providing classroom cover, the role will involve supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, is confident leading classes and is committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential in a positive and supportive learning environment.

This role is a part-time, term-time plus insets position, Monday to Friday, 18.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, delivering pre-planned work and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Support pupils' learning and progress through classroom support, small group interventions and the implementation of Individual Education, Behaviour and Support Plans.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, encourage positive relationships and provide pastoral support to ensure pupils feel safe, valued and supported.
  • Assist with pupils' welfare, including first aid, health needs and general wellbeing, reporting concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Support teachers with the preparation of learning resources, curriculum activities and classroom organisation, including the effective use of ICT where appropriate.
  • Accompany pupils on educational visits and supervise learning activities as directed by teaching staff.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers and external professionals to support pupils' learning, attendance and personal development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by upholding safeguarding, health and safety, equality and inclusion, attending relevant training and meetings, and supporting the school's values and ethos.

  • You have previous experience of working in a school environment (essential).
