Our Trust
At the heart of our Catholic
Multi-Academy Trust is a mission that shapes everything we do. Inspired by the witness of St
Gabriel the Archangel, we are Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts,
questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for justice. These characteristics are lived out in our schools, they shape our
culture, leadership, teaching, and our
community. St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic
Multi-Academy Trust is a family of 63 schools working together to provide high-quality,
faith-filled education to every child we serve.
Our School
St John’s Catholic Primary School in Great Haywood is a small, family-oriented academy serving children aged 3–11, including a nursery. It is a thriving, welcoming, and
faith-filled community where every child is known, valued, and inspired to
flourish. Rooted in Gospel values and a strong Catholic ethos, we take pride in
our nurturing environment, high academic standards, and our commitment to
developing the whole child—spiritually, academically, and socially.
We are now seeking an exceptional Lead Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and
work in close partnership with the Executive Principal to lead our school, to build on
our strengths and further enhance our school community.
This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for an
ambitious, dedicated, and faith-driven professional who is passionate about
Catholic education. The Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in strategic leadership, school improvement, and
daily operational management, ensuring that St John’s continues to
provide an outstanding education for all pupils.
You will be a visible, approachable leader who
inspires staff, motivates pupils, and builds strong relationships with parents,
governors, and the wider parish community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a
leader who shares our faith, values, and passion for nurturing every child’s potential
through high-quality Catholic education.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a Practising Catholic* who will actively support and promote the Catholic ethos and spiritual life of the school. *Please see the additional "Definition of a Practising Catholic" attached).
- Is committed to safeguarding and
promoting the welfare of every child.
- Has experience of leadership and
teaching in a successful and inclusive school environment.
- Has experience of leading or supporting SEND provision, with a compassionate commitment to inclusive practice.
- Demonstrates
ambition and integrity, with a deep commitment to Gospel values and a
willingness to go the extra mile in serving the whole school community.
- Can articulate and share a clear
vision for primary education that reflects the mission and values of St John’s’ Catholic Primary School.
- Understands what constitutes
high-quality educational provision and has strategies to raise standards and ensure the success of all pupils.
- Is well-organised and adaptable, able
to balance competing priorities and respond positively to the changing needs of a busy school environment.
- Has excellent communication skills to
build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the wider
community.
We can offer you
- Wonderful pupils who are
enthusiastic, curious, and proud of their school — children who love to learn, care for one another, and are at the heart of
everything we do.
- A happy, caring, and safe
environment where every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential.
- A strong sense of community and
partnership, where staff, governors, parents, and parish work together to nurture each child’s spiritual,
emotional, and academic growth.
- An inclusive, diverse, and vibrant
culture that celebrates difference, promotes understanding, and encourages all to live out the Gospel values
of love, respect and service.
- Central services for Finance, HR,
Estates, and IT—enabling school leaders to focus on what matters most: teaching, learning, and pastoral care.
- The
opportunity to work closely with an experienced Catholic senior leader, our
Executive Principal, and a dedicated team of school improvement advisors,
supporting your personal and professional development.
- A committed, hardworking, and
supportive team, both within the school and across the wider St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi-Academy Trust
