TEACHING ASSISTANT

(Working at our Resource Centre in Stafford and within Cicely Haughton as part of Outreach team)

Required for April 26

Full Time, Fixed Term contract (12 months) with possible extension for the successful candidate

Salary £27,254 - 32.5 hours - pending pay award

Cicely Haughton School are looking for an inspiring and imaginative teaching assistant who is able to support teaching to ensure that learning is fun, practical and creative to provide support within our resource base in Stafford and out of Cicely Haughton as part of in reach and outreach packages of support.

The role has been devised in collaboration with local schools, the Local Authority and Manor Hall Academy Trust to meet the needs of the Stafford district or within locality to Cicely Haughton to  provide early intervention for pupils, support inclusion,  to enable them to develop their social and emotional skills through a Nurture based approach whilst continuing their academic learning, resulting in their mainstream placement succeeding.

 

The Tillington provision operates for 8 sessions a week, and 2 sessions a week are utilised for supporting the pupils in their mainstream schools in the Stafford and Stone district, and professional development at Cicely Haughton. The Cicely Haughton outreach team offer in reach and outreach services within all age ranges of setting whilst working within the SEDIS framework too. 

 

Both resources are established in delivering the variety of bespoke packages of support and have a fantastic reputation within both areas. We have seen successful pupil reintegration and positive relationships with local schools being established and mainstream placements being maintained following our guidance and support. 

 

Previous experience in a school would be an advantage, but the successful candidate will be working alongside two experienced members of staff and have excellent levels of support and supervision. Applicants with a sense of humour, a high level of resilience and capable of maintaining high standards will find the job both stimulating and rewarding. Candidates should be able to work as part of a team but equally as confident and competent in working as an individual within a variety of schools alongside a range of SEMH needs.

 

Our staff present as excellent role models and through interacting positively with children assist in developing their self-esteem, self-worth and self-confidence i.e. qualities they need to play a positive role in their home communities.

Your approach and qualities are equally as important as your experience. Previous SEN experience is not necessary as relevant training will be provided. Our priority is to appoint outstanding practitioners who will make a positive contribution to the team.
