Wolverhampton
Vocational Training Centre (WVTC) are seeking to appoint an inspiring and
creative Vocational Instructor of Construction to join our existing team of
dedicated colleagues. Wolverhampton Vocational Training Centre (WVTC) is a free
school for up to 65 pupils, aged 16 to 19 years, with a wide range of Cognitive
Difficulties.
WVTC is rated
“Good” by Ofsted and is situated just outside Bilston in Wolverhampton. WVTC is
a unique Post 16 Special Needs School with all students having an EHCP. We aim
to give our students both vocational and academic qualifications and skills
alongside Independent living skills to enable them to become independent
valuable members of the community and progress into either Further education or
employment.
We are Free
School, part of the Central Learning Partnership Trust (CLPT) and work
collaboratively across the schools in our community to provide mutual support
and share good practice. We strive to ensure our students receive an education
which inspires and promotes positive learning and ensure that rigorous CPD
supports all staff in becoming the best they can be.
KEY PURPOSE OF THE POST
To be an effective professional, who
demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively,
takes responsibility for professional development and supports students to
maximise their potential.
In fulfilling the requirements of the
post, the instructor will demonstrate essential professional characteristics,
and in particular will:
APPLICANT QUALITIES
We are looking for a
Vocational Instructor of Construction who:
•
Has experience of working in a school/college/training
provider
•
Has a background within the Construction Industry
•
Has worked with SEND pupils/students; particularly those with
a wide range of learning needs
•
Could work with any age group within the centre
•
Is able to plan and deliver highly effective lessons that
meet needs of all pupils/students
•
Experience of delivering accredited courses
•
Has the ability to improvise and adapt at short notice
•
Has excellent behaviour management skills
•
Is able to work as part of a team
•
Will uphold and promote the ethos and values of the school

CHILDCARE
(DISQUALIFCATION) (Applicable to Primary aged Schools)
In accordance with
the Childcare Act 2006 and the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009 the Governors are
required to obtain an additional staff disqualification declaration for
employees within settings providing care for early years childcare (this covers
the age range from birth until 1st September following a
child’s fifth birthday i.e. up to and including reception age) or later years
childcare (this covers children above reception age but who have not attained
the age of 8) in nursery, primary or secondary school educational settings, or
if when directly concerned with the management of such childcare related
establishments. This declaration is to confirm that you are not disqualified
‘by association’ to anyone currently residing within your household who is
disqualified under the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulation 2009
ELIGIBILITY
TO WORK IN THE UK
We are
