This role is based at Hackney New Primary School. 


In this role, you will:

  • Lead a one-year school improvement project focused on developing the quality and consistency of teaching and learning across the school.

  • Support identified colleagues through coaching, team teaching, collaborative planning, lesson visits and learning walks to improve classroom practice and pupil outcomes.

  • Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to codify, exemplify and embed the school's non-negotiable conditions for learning, ensuring a shared understanding of high-quality teaching in every classroom.

 About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional classroom practitioner to undertake a one-year Teaching and Learning Development Project as part of our continued commitment to securing the highest standards of teaching and learning across Hackney New Primary School.

This fixed-term TLR3 opportunity is designed for an ambitious teacher/leader who is passionate about improving outcomes through developing the practice of others. The successful candidate will remain in their substantive full-time teaching role whilst working alongside the Senior Leadership Team to support colleagues and strengthen teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven track record of securing strong outcomes for pupils.

  • Have the credibility and interpersonal skills to coach, mentor and support colleagues effectively.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of evidence-informed teaching and learning.

  • Be able to model excellent practice through team teaching and collaborative planning.

  • Contribute to lesson visits, learning walks and other quality assurance activities.

  • Support the development and implementation of the school's non-negotiable conditions for learning.

  • Deliver professional development and training where appropriate.

  • Attend relevant Trust and school-based teaching and learning meetings.

The focus of support may change throughout the academic year as school priorities evolve and improvements are secured.

To enable the successful completion of the project, the postholder will be allocated directed time throughout the year to undertake coaching, collaborative planning, lesson visits, professional development activities and associated project responsibilities.
