  • Do you feel like you ought to be working in an organisation that changes lives for the community it serves?

  • Do you want to work in a school where staff enrich the minds and enable the success of the young people they work with?

  • Do you want to work in a school that prides itself on making a difference so that one day, you can look back and know it was worth it?

At Sewell Park Academy, we strive to ‘enrich lives and enable success’ for the students that we serve. Our mission is to ensure that our students leave with the qualifications needed to succeed in their next stages of their lives, but also be healthy, safe and be able to develop strong relationships. We have built a culture where staff want to stay and students want to come. So much so that 100% of staff said that ‘our school has a culture of learning: students are ready, willing and able to learn’ and we have had a turnover rate for teaching staff of just 2% in the last three years. We are the third most over-subscribed secondary state comprehensive in Norfolk.

The Trustees and Governors of Sewell Park Academy are looking to appoint a Raising Achievement Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone with experience of supporting a student with visual impairment. This will include supporting transitions around the school site, supporting in lessons and creating, converting and adapting resources. If you think you have the right skill set for this role please contact us.The school is developing swiftly, whilst growing with ever-increasing student and staff numbers.

The role will be predominately to support a student with a visual impairment, supporting their transitions around the school, supporting in lessons and creating, converting and adapting resources. There may be occasions where the requirement to provide support to other targeted vulnerable students (disadvantaged, SEND, Able, LAC, EAL, underachievers) to achieve their potential and to raise standards at Key Stage 3 and GCSE is required, principally in English and Maths, but also in other subjects as needed.

The ability to be self-motivated and organised is essential as the right candidate will need to be able to prioritise their own workload responding to the most urgent concerns to ensure that the school is compliant in safeguarding procedures and practice. The successful candidate will be supported and be provided ongoing training and development to assist them in their role.

We want the right person to make parents say similar things to Josh’s mum when he left us:

“He has always been a quiet and sensitive soul but I have watched him navigate his way through high school, with your guidance and care, he has grown and developed into a kind, responsible, respectful young man.

Thank you to everyone who taught him or took the time to listen and help him.”

Or this parent of Skye who said this of their prospective sibling coming to the school:

I cannot fault the school and I sincerely hope that my daughter makes Sewell Park her school of choice.”
