Inclusion Support Worker
Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year
Scale point: L6 (21-25)

We are seeking a dedicated and experiences Inclusion Support
Worker to join our committed primary school team. This pivotal role is central
to embedding our school-wide commitment to the Principles of Therapeutic
Thinking, ensuring every child feels safe, understood, and ready to
learn.
About the role
As our Inclusion Support Worker, you will play a crucial
role in supporting our most vulnerable children, fostering resilience, and
promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing across the school.
Key components of the role
- Therapeutic Thinking in
Practice: Working directly with individuals and small groups, you
will apply the Principles of Therapeutic Thinking to understand the
function of behaviour and provide consistent, relationship-based support
that meets the child's underlying needs.
- Driving Equity of
Provision: You will be instrumental in ensuring equity of
provision is a key component of our inclusion strategy, striving to remove
barriers and provide targeted support so that every child has the
resources and opportunities to thrive.
- Whole-Village
Approach: You will be a vital link between school, home, and
external support. This includes:

Working with Families: Building strong, supportive partnerships
with parents/carers to ensure continuity of approach and shared
understanding. -
External Agency Liaison: Collaborating effectively with external
professionals (e.g. CAMHS, Social Services, Specialist Inclusion Services)
to secure and coordinate the best support of our pupils.
- Strategic
Involvement: You will be active and valued voice in our inclusion
strategy, contributing to the strategic thinking around inclusion and
helping to shape school policy and practice.
- Fostering an Inclusive
Culture: You will need to be consistently adaptive in your
approach, responding flexibly to the evolving needs of our pupils and
staff to ensure a positive, inclusive, and anti-oppressive school culture
is maintained and strengthened.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience
working with children with complex social, emotional, and mental health
needs (SEMH).
- Has a good understanding
of, or a willingness to be trained in, the Principles of Therapeutic
Thinking or similar relational approaches (e.g. Trauma-Informed Practice).
- Demonstrates excellent
communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children,
families, and professionals.
- Is proactive, highly
organised, and resilient.
- Is committed to reflective
practice and continuous professional development.
