About this Role

Marden Vale CE Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and skilled SENDCo to lead and develop our inclusive provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
As part of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT), we are committed to ensuring that every child is valued, supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. We are looking for an individual who shares our ambition for inclusion and can work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for our children.
The SENDCo will provide strategic leadership for SEND across the school, ensuring that pupils receive high-quality support and provision that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Depending on the experience of the successful candidate and the needs of the school, the role may include a teaching commitment of approximately one day per week, providing the opportunity to maintain a direct impact in the classroom alongside strategic leadership responsibilities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for children with SEND.
  • Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination, or is willing to work towards achieving it.
  • Has a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
  • Is an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to model high-quality inclusive teaching.
  • Can lead, inspire and support colleagues to deliver effective provision for all learners.
  • Has experience of working with a wide range of SEND needs and supporting staff to meet those needs.
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and external professionals.
  • Has high expectations for achievement, behaviour and attendance.
  • Is willing and able to undertake a teaching commitment of approximately one day per week as part of the SENDCo role.
  • Is organised, resilient and committed to continual school improvement.

We can offer:

  • Enthusiastic, friendly and well-behaved children who enjoy learning.
  • A welcoming and supportive staff team.
  • A strong culture of inclusion and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth through DSAT.
  • Access to a supportive network of SEND professionals across the Trust.
  • A school community that values every child and member of staff.
  • Well-established SEND provision, including our Resource Base facilities.
  • A caring Christian ethos where all members of the community are encouraged to flourish.
