Turing House School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic History Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school community on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support KS5 students ahead of their final exams, helping them achieve their best in History.

Job Profile
Core Purpose
To support KS5 students in History, working alongside teaching staff to reinforce subject knowledge, build confidence, and help students prepare effectively for examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the History teacher in delivering KS5 revision lessons
- Providing targeted support to students needing help with historical concepts
- Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and improve academic progress
- Supporting students with additional needs to ensure all learners can access the curriculum
Safeguarding
- This role involves regular contact with children and is considered regulated activity
- All staff must comply with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
- All appointments are subject to safeguarding checks
Person Specification
Qualifications and Training
- GCSE History
- A‑Level History
Experience
- Experience working with young people in an educational setting (desirable)
- Experience supporting students (desirable)
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the KS5 History curriculum
- Ability to explain historical concepts clearly and effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Competence in using IT to support learning
