The Kingston Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of History to join our successful History department. This is an exciting opportunity to a thriving department in a school that is committed to academic excellence, intellectual curiosity and the development of well-rounded young people. The ability to teach History and/or Politics at A Level would be desirable., though this is not essential.
History is a highly valued subject at The Kingston Academy. Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity about the past and develop pupils' ability to think critically about the world around them. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on developing pupils' ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand different perspectives and construct well-supported arguments. Across Key Stages 3 and 4, pupils' engage with a rich and diverse range of historical topics that encourage them to understand change and continuity, cause and consequence, and the significance of events and individuals. Both History and Politics are also popular and thriving subjects at A Level.

Interview Procedure
Our selection procedure will aim to identify with rigour whether the candidate fulfils the requirements of the post and will include the consideration of the candidate’s suitability to work with children and young people. The process will include:
Lesson Observation;
Meeting with a panel of our pupils for informal question and answer session;
Interview with Head Teacher and/or Senior staff.
