Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Excellence & "Uno
Animo"
- Deliver
a visionary Law and Business curriculum across A-Level and
Applied BTEC (Level 3), challenging students to exceed expectations in
both statutory interpretation and market analysis.
- Lead
the planning of modules (e.g., Criminal/Public Law and Marketing/Finance),
ensuring relevance to real-world readiness.
- Collaborate
with Windsor Girls’ School to ensure equitable, enriching
opportunities for all students across the partnership.
2. Teaching and Learning Excellence
- Deliver
engaging lessons to students of all abilities, fostering a passion for
legal debate and business innovation driven by Ambition and
Creativity.
- Act
as a role model for outstanding classroom practice, promoting an
environment where boys feel confident to take intellectual risks.
- Ensure
effective differentiation for all learners, including SEND, enabling every
student to achieve his potential.
3. Academic Leadership & Management
- Maintain
accurate records of student attainment and lead Pearson BTEC internal
verification processes for both subjects.
- Manage
departmental resources effectively, providing access to current legal
materials and digital business case studies.
- Utilise
data to identify underachieving students and implement targeted
interventions.
4. Extra-Curricular & Vocational Links
- Legal
Focus: Organise participation in the Bar Mock Trial Competition and
develop links with local firms.
- Business
Focus: Lead the Young Enterprise Company Programme and coordinate
visits to local corporate hubs.
- Pathways: Support
students with LNAT preparation, UCAS applications, and professional
apprenticeship pathways.
5. Pastoral Care & Safeguarding
- Contribute
to the pastoral system as a Form Tutor, embodying the school's commitment
to compassion.
- Adhere
rigorously to Safeguarding and Child Protection policies, creating a safe
environment where students feel respected.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified
Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Law, Business, or a related
discipline.
- Successful
experience teaching Law and/or Business at Key Stage 5.
- Proven
track record of driving student progress and achieving high-quality
outcomes.
- Desirable: Experience
leading Mock Trial teams or Young Enterprise cohorts.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent
subject knowledge with the ability to ignite interest in legal systems and
corporate dynamics.
- Strong
classroom management, fostering Courage and Determination in a
fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency
in assessing Pearson BTEC criteria and meeting AQA or OCR specifications.
