Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Excellence & "Uno
Animo"
- Deliver
a visionary Law curriculum across A-Level and Applied BTEC, designed
to challenge every student to exceed expectations in legal theory and
statutory interpretation.
- Lead
the planning and sequencing of Law modules (e.g., Criminal, Tort, and
Public Law), ensuring relevance to real-world readiness and
cultivating Determination.
- Collaborate
closely with Windsor Girls’ School to ensure equitable,
enriching Law opportunities for all students across both upper schools,
fostering a shared teamwork ethos.
2. Teaching and Learning Excellence
- Deliver
engaging Law lessons to students of all abilities, fostering a passion for
legal debate and case analysis driven by Ambition and Creativity.
- Act
as a role model for outstanding classroom practice, promoting a learning
environment where boys feel confident to take intellectual risks.
- Ensure
effective differentiation for all learners, including SEND and
high-attainers, enabling every student to achieve his individual potential
with Respect.
3. Academic Leadership & Management
- Maintain
accurate and efficient records of student attainment and BTEC
internal verification processes.
- Manage
Law resources effectively, ensuring students have access to current legal
materials and digital databases.
- Utilise
data effectively to identify underachieving students and implement
targeted interventions so no boy is left behind.
4. Extra-Curricular & Vocational Links
- Organise
and promote Law-related enrichment, such as Mock Trial competitions,
university masterclasses, and visits to the Courts.
- Develop
links with the local legal community to provide "real-world"
insights and career opportunities, demonstrating teamwork beyond the
school gates.
- Support
students with UCAS applications, LNAT preparation, and law-based
apprenticeship pathways.
5. Pastoral Care & Safeguarding
- Contribute
to the pastoral care of students, embodying the school's commitment to
compassion and individual well-being.
- Adhere
rigorously to all safeguarding policies, creating a safe
and nurturing environment where students feel valued and respected.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified
Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Law or a related field.
- Successful
experience teaching Law at Key Stage 5 (A-Level and/or BTEC Level 3).
- A
proven track record of excellent results and driving student progress.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent
subject knowledge and a passion for Law, with the ability to ignite this
interest in young men.
- Strong
classroom management skills, fostering Courage and
Determination in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency
in assessing Pearson BTEC criteria and
meeting AQA or OCR specifications.
